Born in the UK and having lived on 4 continents by the age of 9, I have enjoyed friendships with people from all walks of life. I have learned to appreciate the small and large beauties of the world from distant lands to my own back yard.
After finishing High School, I enrolled at the University of Toledo where I studied Fine Art and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a concentration in Photography. I participated in a number of fine art shows including acceptance in the Toledo Area Artists, juried exhibition at the Toledo Museum of Art. I continue to have a great appreciation of Art from Ancient and Classical, to Contemporary and Underground. Throughout the years I have supported various local artists (painters, musicians, sculptors, and tattoo artists) by assisting with their self promotion efforts. I feel this connection to art and especially local artists has helped expand my horizons and enhanced my own creative perspective.
For the last 24 years I have worked with Jim Rohman, Commercial Photographer, on a variety of local and national projects. My time with Jim has greatly influenced all aspects of my life. I would not recognize myself without this vast experience. We have worked on everything from Executive Portraiture to Commercial Still life, Food Photography to Architectural Photography, and Aviation to Animals. His influence and support has shaped and enhanced my work and I am proud to have him as a mentor and friend.
In the last few years I have ventured into cinematography with the same concentration on clarity of story, combined with the aesthetic beauty of People, Places, and Things.
I am enthusiastic and energized to begin my endeavor of Giles Cooper Photography.
